General Info
The Heritage & Nature Experience is a 2-day, 1-night tour designed to give first-time visitors and cultural explorers a rounded introduction to Ghana in under 48 hours. Day one stays in Accra, moving through the National Museum of Ghana, Makola Market, James Town, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Independence Square, and a photo stop at Osu Castle, before transferring east to the Volta Region for an overnight stay at Afrikiko River Resort, Akosombo.
Day two turns to nature: a boat cruise on the Volta Lake — one of the largest man-made lakes in the world — a stop at the Adomi Bridge, a viewpoint over the Akosombo Dam, and a hands-on visit to the Cedi Beads Factory in Odumase Krobo, where visitors can watch and try traditional glass bead-making. The day closes with a guided safari at the Shai Hills Resource Reserve before the return drive to Accra.
Private transport collects you from your Accra hotel, apartment, or airport and handles the full round trip across both days. All site entries, the Volta Lake cruise, the Cedi Beads Factory workshop, one night's accommodation at Akosombo, a private live guide, and meals as listed are managed by Venue Tours Group. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for the market, heritage-site, and safari stops.
