The mountain lies approximately 178 kilometers (111 miles) northeast of Accra and an equal distance northwest of Lomé, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Part of the Agumatsa sub-range of the West Africa Mountains, the summit of Mount Afadja is often cited as 885 meters (2,904 feet) above sea level, though its actual height is 587 meters (1,926 feet). Nearby peaks include Mount Aduadu (746 meters/2,448 feet), located about 3.5 kilometers (2 miles) to the east, and Ghana’s highest peak, Leklata, about 4.6 kilometers (2.9 miles) away.
