Mount Afadjato, standing at 885 metres (2,904 feet), is Ghana's highest peak, located in the Volta Region near the villages of Gbledi and Liati Wote. Also known as Mount Afadja to the Ewe people of Ghana and Togo, it is one of the most prominent mountains in Ghana, close to the villages of Liati Wote and Gbledi Gbogame within the Afadjato South District and Hohoe Municipality.
The mountain lies approximately 178 kilometres northeast of Accra, and an equal distance northwest of Lomé, Togo. Part of the Agumatsa sub-range of the West Africa Mountains, the climb is guided throughout by both your VTG guide and a mandatory local guide assigned at the Liati Wote community tourism office — a not-optional part of the experience, and one that meaningfully supports the local community while ensuring your safety on the mountain. Private transport collects you from your Accra hotel, apartment, or airport for the full round trip. Local guide fees, VTG's own guide, breakfast, and lunch in Liati Wote are all managed by Venue Tours Group. This is a genuinely demanding full-day visit — bring sturdy closed-toe shoes and be prepared for an early start.
